Most candidates have grumbled about being admitted to a different course or institution from the exact one they initially applied for on Jamb Caps. The first predicament you will face when you have discovered such is whether to accept such admission or reject it. This is understandable in all consideration that admission into any higher institution in Nigeria is not that easy to come by. However, don’t rush to reject or accept any course been offered immediately. This article will advise you to do the following;

JAMB Change of Course and Institution

1. Always put the course/Institution into Consideration

Before you do anything that you will finally regret, ask yourself this question, Do I really have the academic suitability or fitness for this new course? Is my interest in this course really high? The reason is that it is pretty difficult to study a course you are never interested in. You may have to make few pieces of research on the course to know a little more about it and what it involves. Oftentimes, the reason some courses are not interesting or appealing is that we know little or nothing about the course.

After making basic researches on the course, and you finally discovered that you may not cope with the academic request on the course or still not interested in the course, I will definitely advise you to reject the course. It is far better for you to reject the admission immediately than end up not being able to graduate based on the fact that you can’t cope with it.

On the other hand, If you are finally convinced that you can cope with the academic request of the course. Then, it is advisable that you accept the course. The reason is that you are not sure if you would be given another admission if you reject this one. Unless, of course, you don’t mind sitting for another JAMB exam next year.

2. Apply For Immediate Jamb change of course & institution

Most importantly, after you have accepted the admission, make sure you change your initial course immediately to the exact course you have been offered to study. If it is a different institution that offered you admission, you have to also change your institution to the new one that has given you admission as first choice. If you did not, you would not be able to print your Jamb admission letter as well as the admission might be withdrawn.

If you as well reject the admission, then you don’t have to do anything. Your name will be available automatically in the admission marketplace for admission consideration.
